Meet Dr. Christie MacDonald
An Early Interest in Health
Dr. Christie always knew she was interested in the field of health and wellness. She considered a career in medicine or physiotherapy. Hearing a chiropractor speak at a job fair, however, set her path for the future.
“The idea of the body being a self-healing, self-regulating organism made sense to me. It was an ‘a-ha’ moment.” She became a chiropractic patient right away, then enrolled at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, graduating in 1997. “To this day, I can’t imagine doing anything else.”
Expanding Her Horizons
Combining her passion for animals and chiropractic, Dr. Christie has completed a course in animal chiropractic. She used to work on dogs, horses, and other four-legged family members, now she focuses primarily on people.
Dr. Christie has made chiropractic mission trips to Ethiopia and Uganda. She is also a mentor to chiropractors who are currently in college or those who plan on attending school to become a chiropractor.

Outside of Chiropractic
In her spare time outside of Whitemud Crossing Chiropractors, Dr. Christie enjoys being on her acreage with her husband Spencer and their son Anders. They’re usually outside walking the dogs or riding bikes. Her husband is an author who has written Saving Manno, a book about a chimpanzee he rescued from northern Iraq. Travel is one of their primary interests. Dr. Christie grew up in a small town in the mountains about five hours west of Edmonton. She loves our city and being part of our community.
