Obituary for Ken Bergquist
(May 28, 1961 – August 21, 2024)
Dr Kenneth Greydon Bergquist, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and chiropractor, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2024, at the age of 63. Born on May 28, 1961, Ken lived a life rich in love, humor, and a deep commitment to helping others.
Ken began his chiropractic journey in 1988 and spent over three decades caring for his community with dedication and wit. He had a unique way of making those around him feel at ease, often with a clever remark that left you smiling long after. Ken had a brilliant mind and was a mentor to many. His sense of humor, and his ability to find levity in any situation was one of his greatest gifts.
The love Ken shared with his wife, Cheryl, was nothing short of extraordinary. Their love story started as teenagers, and for 46 years they inspired others with their bond which was built on mutual respect, deep affection and countless shared moments of joy and laughter. Together, they raised their children with value and purpose. Ken passed away surrounded by his children and staring into the eyes of his soulmate, Cheryl—a testament to the profound love they shared throughout their lives.
Ken is survived by his devoted wife, Cheryl, and their five children and their partners: Greydon (Richelle), Austin (Dana), Lauren (Roel), Kaelyn (Rob), and Isabel (Adam). He was the proud grandfather of Holden, Hunter, Inez, Turi, Winsloe, Tenzin, Salem, and Gatsby, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his beloved mother, Velma, and his three siblings and their partners: Becky (Doug), Grant (Liz), and Aaron (Sharon). Ken was predeceased by his father, Dr. Kenneth Austin Bergquist.
Ken’s life was a masterclass in resilience, humor, and love. He had such a stabilizing presence in the family and among those who knew him, always calm and even-keeled, especially when life felt uncertain. In moments of fear or doubt, his steady demeanor and quiet strength reassured those around him, providing a sense of comfort and safety. His spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his legacy will continue to inspire.
